A Happy New Year Guys.

Late December – A Merry Christmas
Goodbye Diamond. Your Goal had been accomplished; it’s time to move on. A great bonding time we had at Sentosa despite the rain. Continue to walk with the Lord and aim for his glory.

I noticed that many of us had been coughing lately. Well I can only blame the environment for making my throat dry.

A Wonderful Youth Camp that makes me remembers what the Lord had done for me. And it’s time for me to deliver. Here I am send me!

Early December - Final
An exam on December...awww.. no early break for me. Began my revision for 4 days before exam start. Though i made afew mistakes during exam, i just leave it to God's hand and he will arrange for me n give me good result. Went to celebrated my classmate's birthday after exam although i dun have to pay =). Thanks man.

November - BUSY, busy, busy
Been rather busy with the projects. Given 3 weeks to finish 3 mini projects. But managed to finish on time. yeah, Praise The Lord for helping me to overcome this tight schedule.

yay! A 10th post

oh well. I suddenly lost interest in blogging.

okay soccer - we finally won against the SJC Parents + Edward + Joel Yeo + etc (5-4). SJC Youth appeared to be coasting to victory after goals by Johnston Yap Zhi .... putting them two goals. Other goals scored - Caleb, Collin and Kenny. The goal that SJC parents scored just before half time was crucial. haha. That Uncle Kelvin and Uncle Melvin who scored 2 goals each. But it was a good game. Hopefully in the next game, we can do a better job in the tournament.

(ignore this if u had read it before.)

EZlink card user beware..of double deduction
Helpful tips for those use EZ Link card.

To those who always use ez card. Like to bring to your attention on
local bus service provider.

Normally, when you board the bus, you flash your ezlink card and move
in and when you get down the bus, you flash your card again at the
exit door
(located at the middle of the bus). We all know that if we forget to
flash the card, full fare will be deducted from the card.

Below is something not known to public:-

But if you alight from the front door (the entrance) and you flash
your card while exiting without informing the bus driver, the card
will capture
another entrance fare instead of exit fare thus meaning that two full
fares will be deducted from the card as no exit was being captured for
the two entrances.

For example, you board a crowded bus at Pasir Ris (where it terminates
at Jurong East) and decided to get down ten stops later. If you flash
your card at the front door without informing the bus-driver, a second
entrance fare will be captured instead of exit fare thu s you are
paying for two full fares (2 X $ 1.90! = $ 3.80) instead of one fare
(approximately $0.83). This is a useful info. Here's the solution:-

Go to the "big" machine (ie machine for U to top up the card) located
at the MRT stations.
1) Insert your EZ link card
2) Press the function key "Check card"
3) Press "more"

The above function will show U the last 20 transactions. Information
on the fare deducted, bus no, boarding time and the boarding and
alighting point will be reflected on the screen.

Hope the above information is useful to U.
Please pass this email to people you know so that they will not pay
extra charges for nothing and burn a big hole in their pockets. !

Last but not least, call the hotline line:
1800 767 4333 when the incorrect fares are deducted.

Other informations:

1) Before you get down the bus, you flash your EZ card,
sometimes you received the long 'peep' sound indicated that you have
not properly flash the card when boarding the bus. Most of the
passenger will move to the front door and flash the card again. I
suspect the machine will deduct the full fare ($1.90) instead of
$0.63.

Suggestion: before alighting the bus, when the long 'peep' sounded,
you just get down the bus and go off --- maybe you get the free trip.
As other passengers told me to get down the bus and not to the front
door and flash the card.

2) When your bus break down, the driver must give you one
complementary ticket to be used for one trip within a month.

Bintan Agro Resort 29 Jun to 1 Jul

First of all i would like to salute to Mr Yosep, my tour-guide in Bintan. He treated us very well as i already felt being at home in the resort. He was so nice and very helpful. He was quick to respond and attend to us wherever there was a need. And not only just a tour-guide, but a waiter, a "motor-shaw" rider, etc.

Got any ideas, what is his age? How much is his salary?
- Yosep was 21 years old staying with his family. Work as Tour-guide in Bintan. His salary was S$200(1180,000) per month. He often share tips to his friends like his driver, resort staffs, etc. That was kind of him to share tips with his friends as he did not think of himself.

Okay back to my trips.

Day 1
Arrived at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal,3pm. We went to meet 10 adults 2 children from SJC who went for trips. haha. The ferry ride was about 1 hour 30min, That was long.......
(4.30pm singapore time)3.30pm - Reached Bintan Ferry Terminal, walked out and saw yosep waiting outside of the Terminal. (i guess he might had waited long)We boarded into the small blue old bus. The seat were so small that my parents had to seat 1 each.
Took 45min to reach to the resort. Were given small glasses of cold watermelon when we arrived. Checked in the room - shiok! the air-con is on. There were many facilities at the beach for playing beach-soccer, beach-volley-ball, kayaking, etc, etc. Watched t.v in the room until it was dinner time.

Asia and Continental Restaurant
Were served several dishes and white rice. It was not bad after all.
8pm - After dinner we went back to the room to play/chat/watch t.v.

Day 2
Woke up 7.10am for breakfast. Were served omelette with sausage,orange juice, cold milo and toast. I don't like to drink this cold milo as it was different from Singapore which i used to drink.

2 hours free time before we headed off to downtown for shopping. Bought a shirt and some stuffs. Nothing much to buy there as me n yewgin explored around in the shopping centre.
Lunch at chinese restaurant were not good. They cooked the food early as it were not hot and nice. Went back to the resort after the shopping and lunch.
Uncle mark asked me to go and try the banana boat with yewgin n clement but i find it boring as i heard the boat was travelling at constant speed. So i decided to go but no choice. But we had to wait for 15min as there were no banana boat for us.

Off we go! a slow start.....(in my mind it was boring)

Going further from the beach, a deep CLEAN AND SEA WATER. stopped for 3 sec. Whoosh the speed increased. Shiok! i asked for more power. gogo! And the speed increased more..BANG! Uncle Mark and me started to fly out when the banana boat overturned due to the waves while clement n yewgin did not let go of the banana boat.. yuck! drank alot of saltwater and saltwater went into my nose. Boarded on the banana boat again and off we go again! We fell out of the banana boat about 4/5 times. It was quite fun actually although i find it bored at first.
We also try kayaking but it was a failure as the result. It keep sinking as it was not balanced.

After our activities, we decided to bathe and change before we had a BBQ for dinner.
Yummy! We had fish, prawns, chicken wings, sausages, otah, potatoes, fruit and CRAB.
oh ya. we ate our dinner on the beach near the sea. Well it was great to see my dad share the bible verses with Yoseph during the quiet times.

Day 3
Buffet for breakfast for more than 30 guests who stayed at the resort. After Breakfast we went to the resort farm. Went for the spa, there, i had my foot reflexology which cost S$13. It was my first time that i went for it(experience). Well it's not pain but u will keep laughing like yewgin. haha. After the foot reflexology we chatted for a while as it was too early for lunch. Cant recall the rest.

Time to depart back. I can felt that Yosep was sad to see us leave. You will see him speak in low voice, pulling abit long sad face, look down. haha.

Marvelous!

Praise the Lord for those who were involved for the concert. Although i missed half of the intro songs due for arrving late. Everything went well as some of the youths were opening their heart to worship the Lord.

England's players have agreed to donate all their match fees leading up to the 2010 World Cup to charity.

The gesture is expected to raise at least £1million for charitable causes, which should rise as individual players get involved in additional charity work.

The team have founded the Team England Footballers Charity trust, and England captain John Terry said: 'Each player in the England squad works in some way with local or national charities but as a team we decided to use our role as England footballers to not only contribute money and our time but to also help raise awareness of particular issues. Every player to a man is looking forward to supporting our charity.'

Among the charities set to benefit are the Association of Children's Hospices, WellChild, the Bobby Moore Fund for cancer research and the Professional Footballers Association Charity Initiatives.

Stephanie Moore, founder of the Bobby Moore Fund said: 'Forty-five men and women die every day in the UK from bowel cancer, often needlessly because, if bowel cancer is detected early enough, more than eight out of 10 cases can be successfully treated.

'I'm overjoyed that the England squad has chosen to support the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK and know that Bobby would have been delighted. Their help and involvement will be crucial in raising awareness and funds for vital research.'

Barbara Gelb, Chief Executive of the Association of Children's Hospices (ACH) said: 'We are very proud to have been personally chosen by the players themselves and we are also incredibly excited about working with the team to make a real difference in so many ways to thousands of children who won't live to reach adulthood and their families. This really is teamwork at the highest level!'

Football Association chief executive Brian Barwick added: 'I'm obviously very happy that the whole squad has taken this initiative and will distribute funds across a deserving range of charities. It puts an extra kick into them appearing for their country.'
